Only buy it after you've played it, most people either love or hate Ovations from the start. IMO it is truely a guitar meant to be plugged in. It just didn't sound very alive, but, when I plugged it into an acoustic amp, I realized thats where the life is. Installing a new set on the Applause AE28 accomplished three things for me: 1) The slightly thicker strings lowered the action just a hair, but enough to. Ovation has gotten better with this, still providing a rounded back, but it has grooves for it to sit on your knee, etc. First, the thing keeps slipping out from under me because of the smooth plastic rounded back. However, they're are a few things holding me back. The one I'm GASing for right now it this one: as a gigging guitar, because they're supposed to be ultra tough. Here are the all the things from our website that match your search term. With that said, I've always liked Ovations (I've never played an Applause), and they sound incredibly good plugged in IMO. This guitar features fast, effortless action, award-winning value, and owes it all to its heritage of being born on the drawing tables at Ovation. Buy the guitar that you personally think feels better than the others. The Applause AE128 Acoustic Electric Guitar features the famous super shallow roundback body, a built in pickup and electronics system, and cutaway neck access. I reccomend not to get a certain guitar because your hero plays one. it stays tuned very well and sounds close to a 400 ovation when pluged in the pre-amp only has. its ovation so it has that trade mark ovation sound with out the 300+ tag. No matter what brand, Ovation, Martin, Taylor, etc. I bought this guitar at a local Sam Ash store i paided 250 though now you should pay 200. Ovation primarily manufactures steel-string acoustic guitars (both 6 and 12-string versions) and nylon-string guitars, often with pickups for electric amplification. I f I get an Ovation and a Epiphone Les Paul Studio I will have PLENTY to play with for some time (until I get the BUG again!) The Ovation Guitar Company is a manufacturer of string instruments.
#OVATION APPLAUSE AE 28 PLUS#
Plus being an Acoustic/Electric makes the Applause something I would want. Used (normal wear), Lightly used acoustic electric ovation guitar with built in OP2B pickup. My Fender San Luis Rey dreadnought is a GREAT guitar but I just can't play songs like Wanted Dead Or Alive on it.

I really want the cutaway do I can play songs above the 14th fret. I just want to know if this is quality guitar for the money? I know from reading the forums that the Ovation may touch nerves so I am NOT trying to start a debate.
#OVATION APPLAUSE AE 28 SERIES#
I really want to get a cutaway and I have always like the Ovation series with the round backs ever since Jon Bon Jovi did the first "unplugged" on MTV way back when. (I may try to see if my local GC would be willing to beat that price!).
